The Swiss Platform for Impact Investing aims to contribute to a financial system that targets positive impact alongside financial returns
SPII's Role and Value Proposition
SPII accelerates the shift from fragmented impact investing activity to aligned, investable and scalable action, by convening relevant actors, strengthening quality and transparency, and helping mobilize capital.
The SPII creates value in three ways :
-
Coordinate & convene: SPII connects asset owners, asset managers, policymakers, intermediaries, impact entrepreneurs, and other ecosystem actors to align priorities, collaborate, reduce duplication, and build momentum around the most material impact investment bottlenecks in Switzerland.
-
Raise quality & credibility: SPII promotes shared principles and practical guidance on governance, transparency, evidence, and impact measurement so initiatives are execution-ready and trusted by capital providers and stakeholders.
-
Enable adoption & capital mobilization: Through introductions, convenings, working groups, visibility, SPII helps credible initiatives gain traction, mobilize (or attract) capital, and support policy alignment.
SPII Theory of Change (ToC)
What is a Theory of Change?
A ToC maps the pathway from activities to outputs, then to outcomes, and finally to long-term impacts, making explicit the assumptions that underpin the change process.
Definition of Terms
The below expressions are used to explain the SPII ToC:
-
Activities (inputs): specific actions, interventions, and resources deployed to achieve the intended objectives.
-
Outputs (short-term results): direct products, services, or deliverables generated by activities.
-
Outcomes (medium-term effects): changes in behaviours, practices, capacities, relationships, or systems.
-
Impacts (long-term objectives): enduring, systemic changes to which we seek to contribute to over the long term.
SPII's work is anchored in three long-term impact goals:
-
Mobilise capital to generate positive impact alongside financial return;
-
Foster a thriving and effective Swiss impact investing ecosystem; and
-
Strengthen Switzerland’s contribution to global efforts to build a regenerative economy and inclusive financial system
